So, before starting working on debug process we should know what are the actual reasons which cause this error,

  1. Plugin: In each WordPress update, WP team introduces some new features or fixes the bugs, in some case one of the plugins which you are using for your WordPress site it may not be properly compatible with the new update of WordPress. As a result, WordPress plugin gets malfunctioned and the error will be printed on your site. Also, in some case at the time of plugin update, a new version of the plugin may not be compatible with your present WordPress version or while getting updated plugin files may get corrupted.
  2. Theme: Sometimes theme version which you are using right now may not be compatible with the latest version of WordPress or vice-versa, this results in malfunction of the theme.
  3. PHP Configuration: We used to get default php limits for our website like max_execution_time, memory_limit, max_input_time, sometimes the limits of php might not be compatible with the production site.

Solution 1:

There are a couple of ways to fix this issue. In this article, we have hosted our test website on the cPanel. In this article, we will help you to get a resolution of your issue through cPanel,

  • Login to cPanel.login-into-cpanel
  • Navigate to File Manager.

  • Navigate to the Public_html directory and search for error_log file and click on view.search-for-error-log-file

Once you check the error_log file, you can find the error like below,

PHP Warning: require_once(/home/user/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/user/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/load-jetpack.php on line 44

So, in this above error_log file, you can check the error like above which is surely causing due to the plugin. So, in order to resolve this issue, we need to disable the JetPack plugin from the cPanel directly. To disable the WordPress plugin from the cPanel follow below steps,

  1. Login to cPanel.
  2. Navigate public_html > WordPress installtion directory.
  3. Navigate to Wp-content > Plugins.
  4. Search for the plugin directory, right-click on it and click on Rename. Rename the plugin with plugin-bkp.

Now try to browse your website it should work perfectly for you.

 

If you are not able to find the error_log file within the WordPress installation directory you can enable the WordPress to debug from the wp-config.php,

// Disable display of errors and warnings

Solution 2:

In the above steps, we have learned how to resolve an issue caused by the plugin. In this step, we will learn how to resolve the issue caused by some corrupt files of WordPress or theme.

  1. Login to cPanel.
  2. Navigate to File Manage > Public_html
  3. Navigate to the WordPress installation directory and check the error_log file. You may find the error like below,PHP Fatal error: require(): Failed opening required ‘wp-blog-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php73/root/usr/share/pear’) in /home/zxbszutr/public_html/sapp-wp-signon.php on line 9 

Q.1. How to disable the theme?
Ans. 
Login to cPanel > Navigate to WordPress Installation Directory > Navigate to Wp-content/themes > Update the WordPress theme.

Q.2. How to fix WordPress files?
Ans. 
Download the clean WordPress files from wordpress.org and using FTP you can over-right the files.


Solution 3:

So, if the above two solutions don’t work for you, try to follow this solution steps,

  • Login to cPanel.login-into-cpanel
  • Navigate to Multi PHP INI Editor > Select Domain > Click on Manage.

  • Click on Apply to save all the changes.
